The Truth Project Team

Hey Del!
I was excited to hear about The Truth Project. I work in mainstream media and am frequently surrounded by much of the philosophy which I believe The Truth Project will educate people on how to better understand and identify.
From the trailers I've seen and the posts I've read on your blog I really believe that this content could begin shifting many minds and hearts of people who are "on the fence" within the world I work -- and abroad to other influencers in media and culture.
However, I must admit that I was sorely disappointed when I learned that admission to this event was $119.00.
In an age where a two-hour, high-definition video download costs pennies to distribute over the Internet, I'm confused why you chose the traditional model of holding this event in Churches at such a high ticket price. Many of the people who need to hear this message aren't likely to step foot in the door of a Church. Even if people would be willing to show up at a Church, shelling out over a hundred dollars to gain clarity on the Gospel feels sticky.
I don't blame you or FOTF for taking this approach to distributing your content. However, I do think it speaks to a bigger issue in the Church. I don't understand why the most valuable, life-changing content is only available for a fee. I think we have a responsibility as Believers and as business-people to rise above the normal model of charging for content and find ways to put Truth in the hands of those who need it -- without asking for compensation. After-all, I don't recall any Scripture which speaks of Jesus charging admission for his parable-of-the-month. :)
Oprah did it with Eckhart Tolle and I think you should too. Even "The Secret" DVD was at a very low-cost. I think it's time a leader like FOTF follows this model too.
I'd encourage you to find a way to make The Truth Project content available for free online. I'll be eager to tell everyone, "I know about something that can change your life and it won't cost you a dime".
I wish you and your team the best of luck for the event tomorrow. I'm also hoping that after you reach this initial 24,000 that you find a way to reach 2.4MM by making the content available online for free.
Thanks!
Brendan
